2023 Scholarship for High School Seniors

Scott County Soil & Water Conservation District will be awarding one (1) $1250 scholarship, thank you to a $250 anonymous donation, and one (1) $1000 scholarship. 

New this year! Scholarship applicants will have an opportunity to apply for an internship for the summer of 2023. The internship will be a paid opportunity ($13/hour) with flexible a schedule starting in May through July. It will provide someone the ability to learn at a local nursery, with a variety of plants and duties. 

High School Seniors intending to further their education, while pursuing programs of study in any field of agriculture, environmental science, or natural resources have until Friday, February 24, 2023, to apply. (Applicants must reside in Scott County.) In conjunction with Conservation Districts of Iowa, Scott SWCD will forward the top recipients’ application to the State level to compete for additional scholarship awards of $3,000, $2,000, $1,000 or six – $500 awards. 2023 Tree, Plant, and Repellent Sale

Order Native Wildflowers, Prairie Grasses and Bare Root Trees from Scott County Soil and Water Conservation District!

Scott County Soil & Water Conservation District is selling hardy Bare Root Tree Seedlings, Native Prairie Plants and Deer/Rabbit Repellant. Money from these fund-raising sales helps the District support local scholarships, educational programs and other community projects. Now is your opportunity to order!
